Dubai Design Week celebrated its 10th edition with over 1,000 designers, architects, and creatives from 50 countries coming together to showcase the positive impact of design. The event features over 40 large-scale art installations, 10 major events, a design fair, limited-edition exhibition, talks, workshops, and training courses, among other activities aimed at inspiring visitors. Over the past decade, the event has become a key meeting point for emerging and established designers, brands, and cultural institutions from the region and beyond, solidifying Dubai’s reputation as the design capital of the Middle East.

Under the patronage of Sheikha Latifa Al Maktoum and in partnership with Dubai Design District (D3), Dubai Design Week highlights the evolution of the design sector with technology, international collaborations, and shifts in consumer trends. Khadija Al Bastaki, Senior Vice President of Haidabi Design Group, described the event as a reflection of the creative industries through exhibitions, works, dialogue sessions, and workshops, strengthening Dubai’s position as a global hub for creativity and design. Dr. Saeed bin Kharbash, CEO of the Arts and Literature Sector at Dubai Culture, emphasized the event’s role in supporting local talent, providing opportunities for Emirati designers and craftsmen to showcase their creations and enrich the local cultural scene.

Natasha Carella, Director of Dubai Design Week, highlighted the event’s commitment to using design as a catalyst for positive change, addressing global challenges, promoting sustainability, and inclusion. She emphasized that Dubai Design Week is not just a celebration of aesthetics but a platform for designers to share ideas and create meaningful impacts. The event also aims to invest in future generations and enhance their educational and creative capabilities, with initiatives like the Emirati Designers Exhibition and Dubai Design Week Market showcasing the unique creations of Emirati talent. The participation of Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children reflects efforts to strengthen Dubai’s creative economy and cultural landscape.
