In celebration of Ali Radi Ali Arshid representing Qatar in the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris, the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum will be hosting a summer festival from August 31 to September 5, 2024. The festival is titled “LET THE GAMES BEGIN: 3-2-1 Summer Paralympics Festival” and aims to bring the excitement of the Paralympics closer to the local community through a range of engaging activities.

The Paralympic Games are an international multi-sport event for athletes with disabilities, held every four years. The Games feature a variety of sports organized by the International Paralympic Committee, including traditional sports specifically designed for various disability classifications. The festival is designed to showcase the athleticism and spirit of athletes with disabilities.

Visitors to the festival can expect Paralympic Sport demonstrations in the Activation Zone, featuring games such as Para Table Tennis, Sitting Volleyball, Goalball, Para Badminton, Para Cycling, and Boccia. Additionally, the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum Library will host daily storytelling sessions focused on the journey of Paralympic champion Tatyana McFadden to inspire children with tales of triumph and inclusivity in sports.

Children attending the festival will have the opportunity to participate in activities such as blow painting, where they can learn to use different body parts to express art. A guided tour titled “Let’s Talk Paralympics” will explore the history of the Paralympic Games and highlight star athletes who have made significant contributions to the event. The festival will also include daily storytelling sessions and a guided tour of the museum.

The festival schedule includes activities such as storytelling sessions, creative arts and crafts, guided tours, and demonstrations of Paralympic multisport. The festival aims to educate and engage participants of all ages in the spirit of the Paralympic Games. For more information and updates on the festival program, visitors can visit the QOSM website and follow the museum on Instagram at @321qosm. Make sure to mark your calendars for this exciting celebration of athleticism and inclusivity in sports.
