His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa recently chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace, alongside His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. During the meeting, the King extended his congratulations to the people of Bahrain and the Arab and Islamic nations on the occasion of the new Hijri year 1446. He prayed for a year of security and prosperity for all, as well as continued progress and development in Bahrain.

In addition to the new year greetings, His Majesty also congratulated Mr. Masoud Pezeshkian on his victory in the Iranian presidential elections and expressed Bahrain’s interest in establishing normal relations based on cooperation with Iran. The King also extended his congratulations to Sir Keir Starmer on his appointment as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, wishing him success in leading his country towards further progress and prosperity. His Majesty also praised the efforts of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister in advancing national action across various fields.

Recognizing the importance of Bahraini citizens in the country’s development, His Majesty emphasized the need to invest in the local population and closely monitor the implementation of major development projects to ensure their positive impact on citizens’ well-being. The King highlighted the ongoing efforts of all members of Team Bahrain, acknowledging their contributions to the Kingdom’s achievements at multiple levels. His Majesty also instructed the relevant authorities to ensure all necessary preparations and support for the successful observance of Ashoora.

His Majesty underscored Bahrain’s culture of openness and tolerance, which have long defined the Bahraini society as an oasis of fraternity, peace, development, and achievement. The King directed the formulation of an action plan to preserve Bahrain’s historical and cultural identity, as well as the completion of the Muharraq City Development Plan and the redevelopment of the historic Manama Souq area while preserving its character. Additionally, His Majesty emphasized the importance of enhancing food security, supporting national products, preserving wildlife, and developing Bahrain’s fisheries wealth.

His Majesty commended the efforts of the national committee responsible for coordinating Bahrain’s initiatives submitted to the 33rd Arab Summit, aimed at strengthening joint Arab action. He reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to building cooperation with other countries to contribute to peace, security, and stability in the region. The King highlighted the development and progress achieved by Bahrain and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, noting the advanced level of services and living standards on a global scale.

Highlighting the unity and cohesion of all Bahrainis as a source of strength and pride for the nation, His Majesty emphasized the importance of true citizenship rooted in authentic Bahraini values, customs, and shared principles. The King stressed the significance of upholding Bahrain’s values and traditions, which are deeply rooted in the rich cultural heritage of Arab and Islamic values. Recognizing the Arab nation’s important role in the region and the world, His Majesty urged global friends and partners to stand with the region to confront threats and challenges to regional stability.

HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister expressed gratitude to His Majesty for his appreciation of the efforts of all members of Team Bahrain. He noted that this recognition is a source of pride and responsibility to continue fulfilling the King’s aspirations. The Crown Prince highlighted the commitment of ministries and government agencies to implement His Majesty’s directives for developing Bahrain’s cities, ensuring the success of the Ashoora commemoration, and executing various plans to enhance food security, support national products, and preserve wildlife.
