King Hamad received Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi

Minister Al Rumaihi presented updates on the progress of implementing the Royal Vision for the development of Muharraq City, focusing on preserving its cultural and historical identity. This includes plans for the development of Shaikh Isa Al Kabeer Palace and Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa Mosque. The completed stages so far include issuing a tender for appointing a consultancy firm, preparing preliminary designs, initiating property expropriation, and planning to commence construction work.

His Majesty expressed appreciation for the Minister and government entities involved in the project for their efforts in delivering quality housing services and contributing to the Kingdom’s urban development. He highlighted the significance of the Muharraq City development project, given the city’s deep-rooted identity and enduring heritage. His Majesty also emphasized Bahrain’s pride in its culture, heritage, and rich history, which reflect its Arab and Islamic identity.

Furthermore, His Majesty reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to fulfilling the aspirations of citizens across all sectors, stressing the importance of ensuring dignified living conditions for families, while preserving national achievements and maintaining their sustainability for future generations. Minister Al Rumaihi expressed her appreciation to His Majesty for his insightful directives and assured that the ministry is exerting all necessary efforts to advance this national project. She extended her best wishes to His Majesty for continued good health and expressed hope for further progress, prosperity, and advancement during his reign.

His Majesty’s appreciation for the project and commitment to preserving Bahrain’s culture and heritage is evident.
