Katara, a cultural village in Doha, recently concluded its four-day program of cultural and entertainment activities to celebrate Eid Al Adha. The celebrations took place on Katara Corniche and in various facilities, attracting a large number of visitors. The event featured a wide range of cultural events, recreational activities, artistic displays, heritage presentations, and fireworks shows.

Among the highlights of the celebrations was the Aarda activities, which showcased artistic paintings inspired by Qatari heritage. The event also featured police music performances and a free drawing event on Katara Corniche. Visual artist Maryam Al Mulla expressed her happiness at taking part in Katara’s Eid celebrations, emphasizing the importance of such events in encouraging artists to express themselves creatively and connect with the public.

The handicrafts market at Katara also proved to be a popular attraction, drawing visitors interested in acquiring various handicraft pieces inspired by different cultures. Additionally, Katara distributed Eid gifts from inside cars at specific points in the streets, while popular bands from countries such as China, Syria, Morocco, and Jordan performed on Katara Corniche, entertaining a diverse audience.

For those interested in astronomy, the Thuraya Astronomical Dome in Katara presented 3D films that captivated the audience. Families also enjoyed the play “Garden of Dreams,” which aimed to educate children about the importance of preserving water resources and protecting the environment. Visitors to Katara Beach engaged in swimming, marine games, and water sports, while young electronic game enthusiasts gathered at Building 12 for competitive gaming experiences.
