The ‘Jood’ digital platform for charitable donations in Muscat has seen tremendous success since its activation in October 2023. With a total of OMR2.136 million in financial donations received and 115,533 donors, the platform has proved to be a valuable tool for those looking to give back to their community. The platform aims to create a unified database to record the data of beneficiaries, accelerate the study of cases, and deliver aid to those who deserve it easily and smoothly.

There are currently 30 charitable associations, 63 teams, and 3 endowment institutions registered on the ‘Jood’ platform. These organizations offer a total of 597 initiatives and 181 programs for donors to choose from. The platform’s main goal is to provide assistance to those who need it most, aligning with the objectives of the “Oman 2040” vision, specifically in the area of social welfare and protection.

The ‘Jood’ platform offers four types of donations: donations according to the initiative, donations to a specific association or team, donations to a specific case, and in-kind donations. These options give donors the flexibility to choose where their contributions will make the most impact. Additionally, the platform allows for electronic donations through secure payment channels, making it easy for individuals and institutions to donate from anywhere.

By leveraging information and communications technology, the ‘Jood’ platform streamlines the donation process, allowing donors to easily access charitable associations and volunteer teams in Oman. This centralized approach eliminates the need for donors to visit each organization individually, saving time and effort. The platform aims to make giving back to the community more efficient and effective for all involved.

Overall, the success of the ‘Jood’ platform for charitable donations in Muscat is a testament to the generosity of the community. With thousands of donors and millions of Omani rials raised, the platform has made a significant impact on those in need. As the platform continues to grow and evolve, it will undoubtedly play a crucial role in supporting charitable initiatives and fostering a culture of giving in Oman for years to come.
