Jeev Milkha Singh, a Dubai Golden Visa Awardee, is gearing up for the 54-hole $500,000 HSBC India Legends Championship at Jaypee Greens in Delhi alongside 64 golfers and 16 amateurs. Despite feeling a bit tired, Jeev is managing everything well and looking forward to the experience, despite the wet course conditions due to the monsoon season in India. He has already completed most of his media duties and is excited to see how the tournament unfolds.

Playing alongside Ryan Howson, the boss of the Legends Tour, in the Pro-Am event added an interesting element to the tournament. The Jaypee Greens course, designed by Greg Norman, is playing wet and there are preferred lies in operation for the first three days. Jeev’s tee time for round one has been released, and he will be teeing off at 9.30 am off tee one alongside Brazil’s Adilson da Silva. As a host, Jeev jokingly mentions that he doesn’t want to win this week, but hopes to contend in front of the Indian fans.

In addition to the professional players, 16 amateurs are also competing in the tournament, including local celebrities and sponsors. Jeev’s 14-year-old son, Harjai, is also participating in the amateur field, showcasing his commitment to the game. The format for the amateurs is an individual 36-hole event on Friday and Saturday in their Division. All players and tournament personnel are staying on-site at Jaypee Greens, making it a very social and engaging week for everyone involved.

Jeev is grateful to have his family with him during the tournament and hopes that all players will have a great experience and enjoy the warmth of Indian hospitality. His focus for the week is on scoring birdies and avoiding bogeys on the course. As the first player from India to join the DP World Tour in 1998, Jeev has 20 worldwide professional wins to his name and is looking forward to competing on home turf in front of the Indian fans.
