The HSBC India Legends Championship, with a purse of $500,000, is set to be a significant event for Indian golf as it is co-sanctioned with the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI). Jeev Milkha Singh, a prominent figure in Indian golf, expressed his excitement about hosting and playing in the tournament. He recently participated in the Zambia Golf Legends Championship and showed his competitive spirit by finishing tied 12th with a score of six under par. With the India Legends Championship just a week away, Jeev highlighted the importance of the event for Indian golf and his role as a tournament host.

The 54-hole India Legends Championship will take place from 29th August to 1st September at the Jaypee Greens Golf and Spa Resort in Greater Noida, on the outskirts of Delhi. The event, which features a purse of $500,000, has HSBC as the title sponsor. Jeev Milkha Singh, who is a Dubai Golden Visa awardee, shared his insights on the tournament and his preparations as he participates in the Japan Senior Tour event before flying to India. His main responsibilities as a tournament host include welcoming players to India, showcasing the country, and organizing a tourist trip to the Taj Mahal for the participants.

With 20 professional wins to his name, Jeev Milkha Singh is a seasoned golfer who has competed on various tours around the world. This season, he ranks 28th on the Legends Tour MCB Road to Mauritius Order of Merit. The Jaypee Greens Golf and Spa Resort, where the tournament will be held, is the only Greg Norman-designed golf course in India and offers a challenging layout measuring up to 7,347 yards from the back tees. The field for the India Legends Championship includes renowned players like Michael Campbell, Keith Horne, and Adilson Da Silva, along with Indian golfers like Jyoti Randhawa.

The HSBC India Legends Championship promises to be a thrilling event for both players and spectators, with top talent from around the world competing for the prestigious title. With a star-studded field and a generous prize purse, the tournament is set to elevate the profile of Indian golf on the international stage. As Jeev Milkha Singh takes on the dual role of host and player, all eyes will be on him to see if he can secure a victory on home soil. The event is not only a celebration of golf but also an opportunity to showcase the beauty and culture of India to a global audience. With the support of sponsors like HSBC and the backing of the PGTI, the India Legends Championship is poised to become a highlight on the golfing calendar for years to come.
