Japan Anime Fest 2025 to Bring Japanese Animation and Culture to Bahrain

The Embassy of Japan in the Kingdom of Bahrain is set to present Japan Anime Fest 2025, a week-long celebration of Japanese animation and culture, in collaboration with the Japan Foundation, Bahrain Polytechnic, and Epix Cinemas. This highly anticipated event is scheduled to take place from November 27 to December 4, 2025, and will showcase a diverse lineup of acclaimed Japanese animated films, highlighting the creativity, emotion, and imagination that have made Japan’s anime industry a global phenomenon. By hosting Japan Anime Fest 2025, the Embassy aims to foster cultural exchange and mutual understanding between Japan and Bahrain.

A Diverse Lineup of Japanese Animated Films

The festival will feature a range of Japanese animated films, catering to different age groups and interests. Screenings will be held at two venues: Epix Cinemas (Dana Mall) and Bahrain Polytechnic. At Epix Cinemas, audiences can enjoy daily screenings of films such as Children of the Sea (PG 15), Time of EVE (PG 18+), Okko’s Inn (PG), Penguin Highway (PG 15), and Ride Your Wave (PG 15+). Meanwhile, Bahrain Polytechnic will host screenings of Machida-kun: Almost a Miracle (PG 15+), The House of the Lost on the Cape (13), and Lu Over the Wall (PG 13). All screenings are free of charge and open to the public, making it an excellent opportunity for anime enthusiasts, students, and families to experience Japanese culture.

Showtimes and Venues

The screenings at Epix Cinemas will take place daily from November 27 to December 1, 2025, at 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM. However, those who miss the initial screenings can catch additional showings at Bahrain Polytechnic from December 2 to 4, 2025, at 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM. This staggered schedule allows a broader audience to attend the festival, ensuring that everyone has a chance to experience the magic of Japanese animation.
