Is the Tour de France Coming to Dubai? Exciting New Event in the Works

L’Etape Dubai by Tour de France is a highly anticipated event set to revolutionize the amateur cycling scene when it debuts in February 2025. Supported by Škoda, this prestigious event promises to be a landmark in the global cycling calendar, providing cycling enthusiasts with the chance to kickstart their season in one of the world’s most dynamic cities. The event is expected to blend competitive cycling with Dubai’s stunning urban landscape, attracting interest from both regional and international cycling communities. Organized by BE COOL and Peloton Events with the support of the Dubai Sports Council, this initiative aims to showcase Dubai’s exceptional capacity to host major international sports events.

The surge in cycling popularity in the MENA region, highlighted by top teams such as UAE Team Emirates and Team Bahrain Victorious, has set the stage for L’Etape Dubai by Tour de France. Participants can look forward to an unmatched cycling experience passing through some of Dubai’s most iconic landmarks, including the Burj Khalifa, Meydan Club, and the Museum of the Future. The event will feature four different routes with varying distances to cater to cyclists of all levels, including a non-competitive route for participants aged 11 and above, and a children’s race for ages 3 to 14. This unique and exciting cycling experience aims to promote a healthier lifestyle among residents and visitors to Dubai.

The event is scheduled to take place over two days, with Saturday, February 1, 2025, dedicated to family activities and Sunday, February 2, 2025, reserved for the main races. The main races include The Race covering a distance of 110 km and The Ride covering 60 km. Details of the route will be announced closer to the event date, providing participants with the opportunity to prepare and plan their cycling journey through Dubai’s picturesque landscape. With the strong support of the Dubai Sports Council, L’Etape Dubai by Tour de France aims to deliver a world-class experience that highlights Dubai as a premier destination for sports tourism.

As amateur cyclists gear up for L’Etape Dubai by Tour de France in 2025, excitement is building around the opportunity to experience the spirit of the Tour de France in the vibrant city of Dubai. With the backing of Škoda and the support of top cycling teams in the region, this event promises to be a game-changer in the cycling calendar. Riders can expect a challenging yet rewarding experience as they navigate through Dubai’s landscape, passing by some of the city’s most famous landmarks. This initiative not only encourages physical activity but also promotes a sense of community among participants, fostering a love for cycling and a healthier lifestyle.

By combining competitive cycling with Dubai’s urban landscape, L’Etape Dubai by Tour de France offers participants a unique opportunity to explore the city while engaging in a sport they love.
