Salalah Free Zone, under the Asyad Group, has seen a significant increase in investment, with the cumulative volume reaching OMR4.6 billion by June 2024. The CEO, Dr. Ali bin Mohammed Tabuk, reported that the first half of 2024 saw an investment volume of over OMR68 million, with 143 companies currently operating in the zone. Industrial projects make up 57% of the total projects, while logistics and commercial projects account for 15% and 28% respectively. The zone is a vital center for various activities and contributes to the local and national economy.

Investors are attracted to the Salalah Free Zone due to its strategic geographical location, which reduces time, distance, and costs to reach markets in the Middle East, the Indian subcontinent, and East Africa. Dr. Ali bin Mohammed Tabuk noted a significant increase in projects during the first half of 2024, such as the production of raw materials from frankincense derivatives, packaging products, air conditioning manufacturing, and more. The existing projects in the zone cover a wide range of sectors, including petrochemicals, mineral processing, food, pharmaceuticals, logistics and storage, import and export activities, and manufacturing.

The Salalah Free Zone provides a range of services and facilities to support investors and companies operating within it. These services include leasing land, warehouses, and offices, as well as one-stop services to simplify procedures for permits, visas, licensing, and more. The zone’s strategic location near the Port of Salalah, one of the region’s most important ports, enhances its attractiveness as a destination for investment. The zone, along with other free and economic zones under the Asyad Group, plays a key role in attracting foreign direct investment by providing an ideal environment for expansion and access to international markets.

The Asyad Group offers integrated logistics solutions to support the movement of goods from Omani ports to global ports, as well as additional services such as warehousing, shipping lines, port-related logistics activities, and last-mile delivery services. These services aim to enhance logistics activities and meet customer needs efficiently. Salalah Free Zone’s diverse range of activities, combined with the services and facilities provided by the Asyad Group, create an ideal environment for investors looking to expand their businesses and access international markets. With its strategic location, incentives, and services, Salalah Free Zone continues to attract investors and contribute to economic growth in Oman.
