Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar AlKhorayef recently wrapped up his official visit to Singapore, focusing on enhancing industrial cooperation and joint opportunities in automation, smart manufacturing, and human capacity development. During his visit, AlKhorayef met with Singapore’s Minister of Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry to discuss investment opportunities in Saudi Arabia. The meeting also included Saudi officials such as the Vice Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Planning and Development and the CEO of the National Industrial Development Center. AlKhorayef also engaged with key Singaporean companies to promote collaboration in logistics, engineering technology, and industrial zone development.

Notable meetings during AlKhorayef’s visit included discussions with key companies such as DHL Asia Pacific Innovation Center, Singapore Technologies Engineering, and JTC Corporation. The Minister highlighted Saudi Arabia’s shift from foreign labor reliance to automation and investment in local human resources, expressing a desire to collaborate with the Singapore Manufacturing Federation to provide training for workers in the industrial sector. AlKhorayef also visited the Port of Singapore, the world’s largest automated port, to learn about advanced technologies and smart manufacturing solutions that have improved logistics operations, exploring opportunities for cooperation and technical knowledge exchange with port officials.

The Minister also met with key figures such as the Chairman of Singapore’s Economic Development Board and the Chairman of Enterprise Singapore to explore strategic partnerships for sustainable economic growth and job creation. Additionally, AlKhorayef met with the CEO of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research to discuss collaboration opportunities in leveraging technological expertise in manufacturing and science. This visit is part of a broader economic tour of East Asia, including stops in China, aimed at strengthening bilateral ties, attracting investments to Saudi Arabia, and exploring mutual opportunities in the industrial sector. The focus is on enhancing support for small and medium-sized enterprises to ensure sustainable growth and development in both countries.
