The 7th election to the Board of Directors – Indian Schools in Oman is scheduled to be held on 11th January 2025, as announced by the Election Commission of the Board of Directors. The Election Commission, led by Mr. Babu Rajendran, is responsible for overseeing the election process and ensuring a fair and transparent election. The commission consists of several members who will work under the supervision of the Ministry of Education, Sultanate of Oman. The voters’ list will be displayed on the school notice board on 16th November 2024, and a website has been set up for parents to check their eligibility and stay updated on election activities.

Prospective candidates can start filing their nomination forms from 17th November 2024 until 7th December 2024, with the scrutiny of nominations expected to be completed by 14th December 2024. Candidates have the right to withdraw their nominations until 26th December 2024, after which the final list of candidates will be published on 27th December 2024. The profile of candidates will be circulated among parents by the first week of January 2025, both physically and on the Election Commission Website. Mr. Rajendran urged parents to participate in the voting process to ensure that the most preferred and eligible candidates are elected to the Board of Directors.

Voting will take place from 8.00 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the election day, with voters inside the school premises before 5 p.m. allowed to complete casting their votes. Mr. Rajendran also stressed the importance of abiding by the laws of the land and refraining from any form of canvassing both inside and outside the school premises. Strict vigilance will be maintained to prevent any clogging around the area due to voter turnout. The Election Commission emphasized the need for candidates to treat each other with respect and dignity, warning against any defamation or malign propaganda against other candidates or the existing system of governance of Indian Schools Oman.

Overall, the upcoming election to the Board of Directors – Indian Schools in Oman is a significant event that will determine the future direction of the school. Parents are urged to actively participate in the election process by exercising their voting rights and choosing the most suitable candidates to represent them on the Board. The Election Commission is working diligently to ensure a smooth and fair election process, and candidates are reminded to conduct themselves with integrity and respect throughout the campaign period. With the support and cooperation of all stakeholders involved, the upcoming election is expected to be a success and will help in shaping the future of Indian Schools in Oman.
