The Embassy of India in Manama recently organized an Open House event on July 26, 2024, with Ambassador H.E. Mr. Vinod Kurian Jacob leading the proceedings. Over 50 Indian nationals attended the event, which was conducted in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam languages. During the event, the Ambassador discussed the upcoming Roads Safety Awareness Campaign scheduled for August 2, 2024, in collaboration with the Ministry of Works and General Directorate of Traffic. He encouraged community members, especially drivers and motorcyclists, to participate in large numbers.

In addition to the Open House event, the Embassy’s Second Secretary (CW) / HOC and welfare officials visited Jau Jail to check on the welfare of inmates. They also visited the Women’s Detention Centre in Isa Town and distributed 15 support kits to the inmates present there. The Embassy also provided air tickets to six distressed individuals affected by a recent fire incident in Manama, as well as to a woman and her two children who were stranded after her husband was deported by local authorities.

During the Open House, the Ambassador praised the Indian community and organizations for their cooperation with the Embassy in addressing various consular and welfare issues effectively. The event served as a platform for the Indian community to voice their grievances and concerns, with some being resolved on the spot and others scheduled for further action. The Embassy emphasized its commitment to supporting and assisting the Indian community in Bahrain, ensuring their welfare and well-being.

Overall, the Open House event proved to be a productive and interactive session, with the Embassy’s Community Welfare team, Consular team, and panel lawyers present to assist community members. The event highlighted the importance of collaboration between the Embassy and the Indian community in addressing important issues and providing necessary support. By engaging with the community directly through events like the Open House, the Embassy aims to strengthen its ties with Indian nationals in Bahrain and improve their overall welfare and living conditions.

As part of its ongoing efforts to support the Indian community in Bahrain, the Embassy has been actively involved in various initiatives, including welfare visits to jails and distribution of support kits to inmates. The provision of air tickets to distressed individuals and families facing challenging situations further demonstrates the Embassy’s commitment to assisting Indian nationals in need. Through such initiatives and events, the Embassy continues to play a crucial role in addressing the consular and welfare needs of the Indian community in Bahrain.

In conclusion, the Embassy of India’s Open House event in Manama was a successful platform for facilitating dialogue, addressing grievances, and providing support to the Indian community in Bahrain. The event allowed community members to interact with Embassy officials, voice their concerns, and seek assistance for various issues. The Embassy’s proactive approach in organizing such events and initiatives reflects its dedication to promoting the welfare and well-being of Indian nationals in Bahrain. As a result of these efforts, the Embassy remains a crucial resource for the Indian community, offering guidance, support, and assistance when needed.
