The Ministry of Industry’s Inspection Directorate in Bahrain has increased its monitoring of swimming pools as their usage tends to surge during the current season. They are conducting daily field visits to ensure that all pools adhere to health, safety, and licensing standards. These inspections cover all provinces of the Kingdom and are being coordinated with various governmental agencies to ensure thorough compliance.

Maryam Al-Hayki, a judicial officer at the Ministry, explained that they work closely with multiple governmental bodies to ensure that all pools are meeting the necessary requirements. Pools that are found to be non-compliant may face closure if the issues are not rectified, with cases potentially being referred to the Public Prosecution. Al-Hayki highlighted the importance of obtaining licences through specific procedures that guarantee compliance and noted that pools are given time to address any deficiencies before facing closure.

Saud Ibrahim, another judicial officer at the Ministry, emphasized that the Inspection Directorate is focused on ensuring the safety and security requirements are met to protect the public’s wellbeing. He stated that their supervisory role operates within an integrated inspection system that treats pools as commercial activities. Pool licensing requires approvals from entities such as the Ministry of Municipalities and Agriculture, Ministry of Health, and Civil Defence Directorate to ensure property classification, health standards, and safety requirements are met.

Ibrahim reiterated that pool rental activities must have proper licences in place and that the Inspection Directorate follows a comprehensive inspection framework to ensure compliance. He urged citizens to report any non-compliant pools through online channels for prompt action. The Ministry’s efforts are aimed at creating a safer and more regulated environment for pool users, ensuring that all facilities meet the necessary standards to operate within the Kingdom.

In conclusion, the Ministry of Industry’s Inspection Directorate in Bahrain is taking proactive steps to monitor and regulate swimming pools to ensure the safety and compliance of all facilities. Their field visits and coordination with various governmental agencies are aimed at enforcing health, safety, and licensing standards across all provinces of the Kingdom. Through collaboration with multiple bodies, they are working to address any non-compliance issues and protect public wellbeing. By encouraging citizens to report any concerns and following a comprehensive inspection framework, the Ministry is striving to create a safer environment for all pool users in Bahrain.
