The Indian Community Relief Fund (ICRF) conducted its third event of the Thirst Quenchers 2024 at a worksite in Hidd on July 20, 2024. This initiative aligns with the Ministry of Labour’s efforts to ensure a safe working environment during the hot summer months of July and August. The program aims to raise awareness about maintaining a healthy and safe summer, especially for workers who are most affected by the intense heat.

During the event, approximately 250 workers received bottled water, Laban (a popular Middle Eastern drink), and fruits such as oranges and bananas. This initiative is a part of ICRF’s annual summer awareness program to provide relief to workers in Bahrain. The Bohra community and dedicated volunteers have consistently supported this project in the past, showcasing their commitment to helping those in need. The team plans to continue these weekly events at various worksites over the next 10 weeks to ensure that workers stay hydrated and healthy during the summer months.

The ICRF Thirst-Quenchers initiative plays a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of workers in Bahrain, especially during the scorching summer heat. By providing essential items such as water, Laban, and fruits, the program aims to prevent dehydration and heat-related illnesses among workers who are exposed to extreme temperatures while working outdoors. The strong support from the Bohra community and volunteers highlights the community’s dedication to making a positive impact and supporting those in need.

The partnership between the ICRF Thirst-Quenchers team and the Ministry of Labour underscores the importance of collaboration in creating a safe working environment for all individuals in Bahrain. By working together, both organizations can effectively promote awareness about the health risks associated with working in high temperatures and provide necessary support to mitigate these risks. The distribution of water, Laban, and fruits at worksites demonstrates a proactive approach to addressing the challenges that workers face during the summer season.

Workers who participated in the event expressed their gratitude for the support they received from the ICRF team and volunteers. By providing essential items such as water and fruits, the initiative not only helps workers stay hydrated and healthy but also shows that their well-being is valued and prioritized. The ongoing commitment of the Thirst-Quenchers team to continue these weekly events highlights the dedication of the organization to making a meaningful difference in the lives of workers in Bahrain.

In conclusion, the ICRF Thirst-Quenchers 2024 initiative is a commendable effort to raise awareness about the importance of staying hydrated and safe during the summer months. By distributing water, Laban, and fruits to workers at various worksites, the program aims to prevent dehydration and heat-related illnesses among those most affected by the extreme temperatures. The strong support from the Bohra community and volunteers, as well as the collaboration with the Ministry of Labour, underscores the collective commitment to promoting a safe working environment and ensuring the well-being of workers in Bahrain. Through continued efforts and partnerships, the Thirst-Quenchers team is making a positive impact and enhancing the quality of life for workers in the country.
