The weekly Cabinet Meeting in Bahrain, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, focused on various key issues and initiatives. One of the main topics discussed was the Kingdom’s alternative sentencing programme, which has received global recognition for exceeding standards. The success of the programme was praised, and gratitude was expressed towards the Ministry of Interior and its personnel for their efforts. Additionally, in line with the National Action Plan to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060, the Cabinet approved the launch of the National Tree Week, aiming to raise environmental awareness and promote eco-friendly practices.

The Cabinet also welcomed the International School Sports Federation (ISF) Gymnasiade Bahrain 2024, which saw high participation in the competition. The event was held under the patronage of HM the King, highlighting the support of key figures in advancing the Kingdom’s sports sector. The Cabinet extended best wishes to Bahraini students participating in the competition. Furthermore, the Cabinet emphasized the importance of prioritizing diplomatic solutions to prevent regional escalation, promoting peace and security in the Middle East and globally.

During the meeting, the Cabinet discussed and approved several memorandums, including amendments to the private sector’s Labour Law to combat human trafficking and procedures for licensing places of worship for non-Muslims. Additionally, the Cabinet reviewed labour market indicators, showing significant progress in job opportunities for Bahraini citizens. The Cabinet also discussed a draft resolution to amend provisions related to the Coordination and Follow-up Committee between Bahrain and the United Nations Agencies.

The Cabinet further reviewed reports on the state’s general budget for the fiscal years 2025-2026, highlighting economic growth and fiscal balance targets. Ministerial reports on various international events and conferences attended by Bahrain’s representatives were also discussed, showcasing the Kingdom’s participation in global initiatives and forums. The external participation of ministers and visits of foreign delegations to Bahrain in November 2024 were also highlighted during the meeting.

In conclusion, the Cabinet Meeting in Bahrain underlined the government’s commitment to implementing key initiatives and programmes to advance various sectors, including environmental conservation, sports development, and economic growth. The discussions and approvals during the meeting reflected the government’s efforts to address critical issues such as human trafficking, job creation for Bahraini citizens, and international cooperation. The Cabinet’s focus on promoting peace and security in the region through diplomatic solutions further underscores Bahrain’s commitment to stability and cooperation on a global scale.
