Farouk Mohammed Al-Khatib, Oil Field Lands Advisor at Bapco Exploration and Production, recently retired after an impressive 71-year career in the oil and gas sector. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, and Chairman of Bapco Energies, hosted a reception to honor Al-Khatib for his significant contributions and dedication throughout his extensive career. Al-Khatib was praised for his role in advancing the industry and adapting to its evolving landscape, showcasing his commitment as a distinguished national talent who served diligently for seven decades.

Throughout his tenure, Al-Khatib held various technical roles, including drilling, field services, gas, asset management, and lands. He started in a fuel tank position but made history as the first Bahraini appointed as a shift supervisor in the Bahrain Field Department.
