The Health Sector’s Recruitment Governance Committee in Muscat recently held a meeting to discuss ways to improve Omanisation indicators within the sector. Chaired by Dr. Fatima Mohammed Al Ajmi, Executive President of OMSB and Chairperson of the committee, the meeting reviewed proposed mechanisms to enhance employment opportunities for Omanis in the health sector.

One of the key topics of discussion during the meeting was the role of the “Tawteen” platform in helping achieve employment goals within the sector. The committee also approved the announcement of 16 job opportunities for Omani dentists in the government sector. This move demonstrates the committee’s commitment to increasing the representation of Omanis within the healthcare workforce.

Furthermore, the committee emphasized the importance of endorsing a mechanism to promote self-employment in various areas of the health sector. By encouraging entrepreneurship among Omani healthcare professionals, the sector can potentially see a rise in local talent contributing to the industry.

The meeting took place at the Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB), a prestigious institution in the country. With Dr. Fatima Mohammed Al Ajmi at the helm, the committee is dedicated to improving Omanisation indicators and creating more opportunities for Omani healthcare professionals.

Overall, the Health Sector’s Recruitment Governance Committee’s meeting in Muscat highlighted the importance of enhancing Omanisation within the health sector. By actively promoting local talent and discussing ways to improve employment opportunities, the committee is working towards a more diverse and inclusive healthcare workforce in Oman.

Moving forward, it will be crucial for the committee to continue exploring innovative strategies to support Omanisation within the sector. By collaborating with organizations like the “Tawteen” platform and promoting self-employment, the committee can help create a more sustainable and thriving healthcare industry in Oman.
