Health Minister has a meeting with counterparts from Algeria and Latvia

During the United Nations General Assembly meetings in New York, Minister of Public Health H E Dr. Hanan Mohammed Al Kuwari had important meetings with Minister of Health of Algeria H E Abdelhak Saihi, Minister of Health of Latvia H E Hosams Abu Meri, and Executive Head of the Pandemic Fund Priya Basu. These meetings focused on discussing cooperation and relations between Qatar and Algeria, Latvia, and the Pandemic Fund in the field of health.

Qatar and Algeria have long-standing relations in various sectors, including health. The meeting between Minister Al Kuwari and Minister Saihi highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation in the health sector to benefit the people of both countries. Discussions also included the exchange of knowledge and best practices in healthcare, as well as opportunities for future collaborations in research and development.

Similarly, the meeting with Minister Abu Meri of Latvia aimed at exploring opportunities for partnership in healthcare between the two countries. Latvia is known for its high-quality healthcare services and innovative technologies, which Qatar could benefit from through collaborations and knowledge sharing. The discussions also emphasized the importance of building strong relationships in the health sector to address common challenges and promote global health initiatives.

In addition to bilateral discussions, Minister Al Kuwari met with Priya Basu, the Executive Head of the Pandemic Fund, to discuss cooperation between Qatar and the Fund. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the need for global cooperation and solidarity in responding to health crises. Qatar’s partnership with the Pandemic Fund could lead to joint initiatives in research, vaccine development, and healthcare infrastructure to strengthen global health security.

Overall, these meetings at the United Nations General Assembly underscored Qatar’s commitment to collaboration and partnerships in the field of health. By engaging with Algeria, Latvia, and the Pandemic Fund, Qatar aims to enhance its healthcare system, share knowledge and expertise, and contribute to global health efforts. These discussions pave the way for future collaborations that will benefit not only the people of Qatar but also the international community in tackling health challenges.
