GWC (Q.P.S.C.), Qatar’s leading logistics and supply chain provider, has partnered with QC+, a Qatari strategy group, to develop a state-of-the-art fine art storage and handling hub in Doha. The facility will cater to the growing regional demand for art logistics and contribute to Qatar’s 2030 National Vision by expanding high-value economic activity in the creative and cultural industries.

The new hub, located in a designated free zone in Doha, is expected to set a new benchmark for integrated art infrastructure and creative economy growth in the region. According to Matthew Kearns, Acting Group CEO of GWC, the company’s 15 years of experience in fine art logistics and its accreditation by ICEFAT make it an ideal partner for this project. Kirstin Mearns, CEO of QC+, added that the collaboration will provide innovative and industry-leading fine art logistics solutions, reinforcing Qatar’s position as a global centre for culture and creativity.

Fine Art Storage and Logistics

The Doha facility will offer museum-grade preservation, secure storage, and professional care for artworks and cultural assets. The hub will be equipped with a conservation laboratory, private and shared storage spaces, viewing rooms, and custom-bonded areas for art logistics and handling. This will enable the facility to provide comprehensive services for art collectors, museums, and cultural institutions.

The facility’s proximity to Hamad International Airport, a major international transit hub, will facilitate the transportation of artworks and cultural assets. The airport’s capacity to handle a high volume of passenger traffic and cargo from around the world will also benefit the hub’s operations.

Supporting Qatar’s Cultural Economy

The project aligns with Qatar’s growing role as a host to major cultural events, including Art Basel Qatar in February 2026. The hub is expected to further connect Qatar’s creative economy with the global art market. By providing a state-of-the-art facility for fine art storage and logistics, GWC and QC+ are supporting Qatar’s vision for cultural and economic diversification.

According to industry experts, the Gulf region is no longer an emerging market for art, but a global player. The partnership between GWC and QC+ is a testament to this growth, and the companies’ combined expertise is expected to drive innovation in the art logistics sector.

The next step in the project’s development is expected to be the completion of the facility, with the exact timeline yet to be announced. As Qatar continues to invest in its cultural infrastructure, the success of this project will be closely watched by industry stakeholders. The impact of this development on the regional art market and Qatar’s economy will likely be significant, and further announcements are anticipated in the coming months.
