Al Dhaid University has recently announced a new project focusing on extracting honey from olive trees that are completely pesticide-free. This initiative was revealed on the “Direct Line” program aired by Sharjah Radio and Television. In addition to the honey project, the university will also have vegetable and fruit farms, cattle and poultry farms, and a new veterinary college. The college will oversee a pasture project aimed at enhancing sheep breeds for milk and meat production.

Earlier this year, Sheikh Dr Sultan unveiled the establishment of Al Dhaid University, which specializes in agriculture, environment, food, and livestock. Various projects in Sharjah will support the university’s scientific mission and objectives, such as the wheat farm, the Seven Sanabel project, the vegetable farm, and the dairy farm. The university also houses a seed bank, along with other facilities, centers, and laboratories.

The focus on extracting honey from pesticide-free olive trees showcases the university’s commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly practices. This project aligns with the university’s specialization in agriculture and environment and highlights the importance of ensuring the purity and quality of natural products. By utilizing resources such as olive trees to produce honey, the university is promoting a holistic approach to agriculture and food production.

The new veterinary college at Al Dhaid University signifies the institution’s dedication to enhancing animal welfare and livestock management practices. Through projects like the pasture development initiative for sheep breeds, the college aims to improve the overall quality and productivity of livestock in the region. This emphasis on livestock farming and veterinary sciences further strengthens the university’s focus on sustainable agriculture and animal husbandry.

Keeping up with the latest news and updates on Al Dhaid University’s projects and initiatives is crucial for those interested in agriculture, environment, and food production.
