Dubai Humanitarian (DXB-H) recently facilitated urgent relief supplies to Chad’s capital, Ndjamena, in response to a humanitarian crisis affecting over 70,000 Sudanese people. Under the guidance of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice-President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, a Boeing 747 cargo flight departed from Al Maktoum International Airport carrying essential medical supplies, shelter materials, and relief items provided by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). These critical resources are expected to alleviate suffering and safeguard lives in the region.

Giuseppe Saba, CEO and Board Member of Dubai Humanitarian, emphasized the importance of a quick response to crises, stating that speed can mean the difference between life and death. The airlift to Chad showcases Dubai’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities globally through strong partnerships and leadership. The World Health Organisation is delivering life-saving infusions to treat those in critical need, with the charter flight from Dubai Humanitarian playing a vital role in overcoming logistical challenges for the WHO’s health emergency response.

Additionally, the UN Refugee Agency is delivering critical supplies to meet humanitarian needs in Sudan, particularly in the Darfur region, which has been affected by floods and famine. The airlift supported by Dubai Humanitarian will assist 68,000 people in Darfur, providing essential aid to those displaced and in need. The total cost of the relief airlift, totaling Dh1.48 million ($405,000), was fully funded by Dubai Humanitarian’s Global Humanitarian Impact Fund. This fund, established by DXB-H, is dedicated to supporting critical humanitarian missions from Dubai to various parts of the world.

The swift response to the humanitarian crisis in Chad underscores the importance of international aid and cooperation in addressing urgent needs in affected regions. By mobilizing quickly and efficiently, Dubai Humanitarian, in collaboration with WHO and UNHCR, is able to make a significant impact in alleviating suffering and saving lives. The support from Dubai’s leadership and strong partnerships with global organizations highlight the commitment to humanitarian efforts on a global scale.

The ongoing efforts of Dubai Humanitarian to support vulnerable communities worldwide demonstrate a dedication to making a difference in the lives of those in need. By providing essential resources, medical supplies, and shelter materials, DXB-H is able to address immediate needs and contribute to long-term relief efforts in regions affected by crisis. Through the establishment of the Global Humanitarian Impact Fund, Dubai Humanitarian is able to sustain critical missions and provide support to those facing the most pressing challenges.

In conclusion, the relief airlift to Chad organized by Dubai Humanitarian, with the support of WHO and UNHCR, exemplifies the commitment to humanitarian aid and the importance of swift and effective responses to crises. By delivering essential supplies to vulnerable populations, DXB-H is able to make a significant impact in alleviating suffering and supporting communities in need. As Dubai continues to play a crucial role in global humanitarian efforts, it underscores the importance of collaboration, support, and leadership in addressing urgent humanitarian needs worldwide.
