Losing your Emirates ID in the UAE can feel like a mini crisis, as it is an essential piece of identification that connects you to various services and benefits in the country. Whether you need it for accessing healthcare, managing your bank accounts, or applying for loans, your Emirates ID is a crucial document that you cannot afford to lose. However, if your Emirates ID has gone missing or been stolen, there’s no need to panic. Here is a step-by-step guide to help you navigate the process of reporting the loss and getting a replacement.

The first step when you realize that your Emirates ID is missing is to report it immediately to the nearest ICP Customer Happiness Centre. By doing this promptly, you can ensure that the stolen or lost card is deactivated immediately, preventing any potential identity fraud. It is important to act fast and report the loss as soon as possible to minimize any risks associated with a missing Emirates ID.

To get a replacement for your lost Emirates ID, you will need to provide some simple requirements to prove your identity. For Emiratis, bringing your family book and original passport is sufficient. GCC nationals will need to show proof of residency in the UAE, which can be an employment certificate, school registration, or business license. UAE residents should bring their passport and a copy of their valid residency permit to complete the process.

After reporting the loss of your Emirates ID and meeting the necessary requirements, you can apply for a replacement at any ICP Customer Happiness Centre. Alternatively, you can also apply online through the ICP website or mobile app. The online process is quick and convenient, allowing you to fill out an application form and submit the required documents digitally.

Replacing your Emirates ID comes with a cost, which includes fees for card issuance, application fees, and printing office fees. The total cost for having your Emirates ID replaced is Dh300 for card issuance, Dh40 for application via the ICP website or app, Dh70 for application through accredited typing centers, and Dh30 for the printing office fee. If you opt for the express service at the ICP main Customer Happiness Centre, you will need to pay an additional Dh150 for expedited processing.

Once you have submitted your application for a replacement Emirates ID, you will receive updates from ICP on the status of your card. Typically, you can expect to receive your new Emirates ID within 48 hours, but if you chose the express service, it will be ready in just 24 hours. After receiving a message from ICP notifying you that your card is ready, you can collect it from Emirates Post or choose to have it delivered to your doorstep for added convenience. By following these steps and guidelines, you can navigate the process of replacing your lost Emirates ID with ease.
