Labor accommodations in the UAE house around 1.5 million workers, with over 1,800 companies registered in the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation’s electronic Labour Accommodation System. During recent inspections, 352 violations were flagged, including issues like inadequate ventilation and air conditioning, unsafe conditions for flammable materials, sanitation requirements not being met, and general cleanliness problems in the living facilities. Companies found to be non-compliant were either warned, fined, or given a grace period to rectify the issues.
