Last month, the UAE experienced unprecedented heavy rains, causing flooding in many areas. However, despite the extreme weather conditions, Fernando Eiroa, CEO of Dubai Holding Entertainment, stated that there was no major damage to the entertainment facilities owned by the company. Eiroa commended the swift response of the Dubai government in managing the situation and ensuring that the parks were reopened quickly after minor repairs.
Dubai Holding Entertainment is the parent company of 20 parks and attractions in the UAE, including popular destinations like Global Village, Dubai Parks and Resorts, Coca-Cola Arena, Green Planet, Roxy Cinemas, Wild Wadi Park, Inside Burj Al Arab Tour, and several radio stations. Eiroa mentioned that Global Village, in particular, is expected to surpass its record visitor numbers from the previous year, despite the temporary closure due to heavy rains. The 28th season of Global Village was extended to accommodate the high demand from visitors and is set to offer a better experience than ever before.
With the 27th season of Global Village attracting more than 9 million visitors, the entertainment destination has become a key attraction for tourists in Dubai. Eiroa emphasized that the upcoming years hold promising opportunities for Dubai’s entertainment sector, particularly with the increasing number of tourists flocking to the city. He hinted at plans for expansion and new experiences at Global Village and Dubai Parks and Resorts, as well as the introduction of new concepts and attractions to enhance the visitor experience.
Dubai’s reputation as a top tourist destination is growing, not just for its hotels and restaurants but also for its diverse entertainment offerings. Eiroa highlighted that Dubai is now gaining recognition for its entertainment sector, alongside its other attractions. As the number of tourists visiting Dubai continues to rise, the city’s entertainment industry is evolving to meet the demands of an increasingly diverse and global audience, offering innovative experiences and attractions to cater to the growing market. Whether it’s Global Village or Dubai Parks and Resorts, these entertainment destinations are poised for continued success and growth in the years to come.
