Canceling a worker’s work permit in the UAE has become a much faster and smoother process, taking only 45 seconds compared to the previous 3 minutes and requiring zero documents. This improved cancellation process is part of the second phase of the Work Bundle platform launched by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Mohre), aiming to provide customers with a hassle-free experience. By integrating all cancellation types into one unified bundle, Mohre has eliminated document requests, enabled automatic approval, minimized the number of fields, and shortened processing time significantly.
The new platform, Work Bundle, brings together several government ministries and federal authorities to simplify the hiring of new employees and the pre-renewal of work permits for existing employees. Initially rolled out in Dubai in March, the second phase now covers all seven emirates, benefiting around 600,000 companies and over seven million workers. Notably, the time to process documents for work permits and residency visas has been reduced from 30 days to just five days across the UAE, making the process much more efficient and convenient for employers and workers alike.
Under the Work Bundle platform, eight work and residency procedures have been consolidated into one, avoiding duplication and simplifying services for businesses. These services include issuing new work permits, requesting a status adjustment, issuing visas and employment contracts, as well as managing Emirates ID, residency, and medical examination services. Additionally, Work Bundle simplifies the process of renewing employment contracts, renewing Emirates ID and residency, medical examinations, and canceling employment contracts, work permits, and residencies.
The implementation of Work Bundle marks a significant advancement in streamlining and enhancing the processes related to work permits and residency visas in the UAE. By integrating various procedures into one platform and digitizing the processes, the platform offers a more efficient and convenient experience for both employers and employees. With the reduction in processing time and elimination of document requirements, the platform aims to make the entire process of canceling a worker’s employment contract much quicker and smoother, benefiting both businesses and workers.
As the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Mohre) continues to enhance and streamline its services, the Work Bundle platform stands out as a major milestone in simplifying work permit and residency procedures in the UAE. By unifying various processes into one platform and automating approvals, the platform reduces the administrative burden on businesses and ensures a more seamless experience for employers and employees alike. With the implementation of Work Bundle in all seven emirates, the platform is set to benefit a large number of companies and workers, making the cancellation of work permits a hassle-free and efficient process.
