The crackdown also led to 49 cars being impounded in the Jebel Ali area. According to Saeed Al Balooshi, director of Passenger Transport Activities Monitoring at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, inspections were conducted in coordination with Dubai Police to target unlicensed passenger transport in the emirate. Violations were issued for passenger transport on unlicensed vehicles and promoting these services.

In Dubai, individuals and companies face fines of up to Dh30,000 and Dh50,000, respectively, for illegally transporting passengers, as per the Executive Council Resolution No. (20) of 2021. The resolution amends Executive Council Resolution No. (6) of 2016, which regulates passenger transport by cars in Dubai. These measures demonstrate the strict enforcement of regulations to curb illegal passenger transport activities in the emirate. It is essential to adhere to the laws to ensure the safety and well-being of passengers and maintain the integrity of the transportation system.

The collaboration between RTA and Dubai Police highlights the commitment to enforcing regulations and ensuring compliance with passenger transport laws.

The impounding of a large number of private cars used for illegal passenger transport underscores the seriousness with which authorities are addressing this issue.
