As the UAE welcomes the king of fruits, mango festivals have kicked off. During these festivals, visitors can indulge in various mango-based delicacies and learn how to make them. Different varieties of mangoes from countries like India, Pakistan, and Yemen have already arrived in the UAE with prices ranging from Dh4 per kilogram to Dh620 for two Miyazakai mangoes weighing 800 grams. The Pakistan Association Dubai is organizing a mango festival called “Connecting Hearts – Mangolicious Way” on July 5 and 6 in Oud Metha in collaboration with the Consulate General of Pakistan. The festival will feature a wide range of activities for visitors of all ages. While the first day is invite-only, the second day is open to the general public. Visitors can look forward to tasting different mango varieties from Pakistan, participating in cooking demonstrations, and enjoying various mango desserts. The festival will also include magic shows, games, competitions, giveaways, and shopping opportunities.
The 3rd annual Mango Festival 2024 will be held from June 28-30 at Expo Khorfakkan. The festival will showcase local mango varieties and host competitions with prizes. The competitions include a beauty contest for mangoes, a contest for the most beautiful mango basket exclusively for women, and an artwork competition for children. Agricultural companies, farmers, and productive families will participate to showcase their fruit harvests, including mangoes and citrus fruits. The festival will be open daily from 4:30 pm to 10 pm.
Participants in the Mango Festival must adhere to specific conditions for each competition. In the mango beauty contest, participants must provide mangoes produced in their own farm or garden. Mangoes submitted must be free of injuries, defects, of appropriate size, and presented in carton boxes weighing 4 kilograms. The “Most Beautiful Basket” competition is open to women who must present locally produced mangoes in a handmade basket not exceeding 4 kilograms. The children’s artwork competition requires participants aged 8-12 to submit mango-themed creative works.
President Hotel in Dubai is hosting its own Mango Festival until mid-July with a special mango menu available at two of its outlets.
