Emirates Group recently announced a four per cent increase in basic salary for its employees, following a bonus worth 20 weeks of salary. The increase includes a raise in transport allowance, UAE national retention allowance, flying, and productivity pay for flight deck and cabin crew. All employees will also receive a 10-15% increase in housing allowance based on their grade. The new salary adjustments will be reflected in a contractual adjustment letter to be distributed on July 22.
However, not all employees will receive the salary increment, as it excludes those on a final warning, undergoing disciplinary proceedings, on probation as of July 1, 2024, or serving notice. The changes were part of the 2024 Pay and Benefits Review approved by the group’s chairman Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum. In addition to the salary hike, employees will also benefit from increased maternity leave, paternity leave, nursing breaks for new mothers, and the removal of life insurance premium contributions for Grade 1 to Grade 5 employees.
Furthermore, there will be enhancements in long-term sick leave, education support allowance, and additional benefits for specific grade employees starting from September. The group has been actively recruiting for pilots, flight attendants, and engineers, with plans to expand its facilities at the new Dubai Al Maktoum airport by late 2026 or early 2027. The new facility is expected to double in size, increasing the number of engineers from 3000 to more than 5000.
The Emirates Group’s commitment to its employees is evident through these salary increases and additional benefits, showcasing a dedication to improving the overall employee experience. With a focus on employee well-being, the group is set to create a positive work environment that values its workforce and rewards their hard work and dedication. The recent announcements highlight the group’s efforts to attract and retain top talent in the aviation industry, positioning itself as an employer of choice for professionals seeking growth and development opportunities.
Employees can expect a more generous and supportive work environment with the increased benefits and enhancements in leave policies. The group’s proactive approach to recruitment and investment in expanding facilities demonstrate a commitment to growth and development, providing employees with opportunities for career advancement within the organization. As the aviation industry continues to evolve, Emirates Group’s initiatives to enhance employee benefits and support reflect its dedication to remaining a leader in the industry through investments in its workforce. By prioritizing employee well-being and offering competitive benefits packages, the group reinforces its position as a preferred employer in the aviation sector.
