With temperatures soaring in Dubai, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has urged drivers to ensure their vehicles are regularly inspected to prevent sudden mechanical failures and traffic accidents. Proper vehicle maintenance is crucial in reducing risks on the road. As part of an awareness campaign, the RTA shared safety guidelines, advising motorists to check the condition of tyres, brakes, oils, cooling fluids, air-conditioning systems, batteries, lights, and windshield wipers. They also emphasized the importance of inspecting oil for water leaks.

While annual vehicle inspections are mandatory during license renewal, drivers are reminded to conduct regular inspections throughout the year. The RTA’s initiative aligns with the Ministry of Interior’s ‘Safe Summer’ drive to promote road safety during the summer months. The campaign includes disseminating messages through social media and at various customer service centers, such as driving institutes, car dealerships, and malls. Bader Al Siri, executive director of traffic at the RTA’s Traffic and Roads Agency, emphasized the importance of spreading awareness about vehicle maintenance during the hot summer season.

The RTA’s awareness campaign coincides with the rising temperatures in the country, with Al Ain recording a temperature of 49.2°C on May 31st. As the mercury continues to climb, it becomes increasingly critical for drivers to ensure their vehicles are in optimal condition to prevent breakdowns and accidents on the road. By following the safety guidelines provided by the RTA and conducting regular inspections, motorists can contribute to safer roads and better traffic management during extreme weather conditions.

Ensuring the safety of vehicles is essential to avoid potential risks associated with high temperatures and prevent accidents caused by mechanical failures. Regular maintenance checks, including inspecting tyres, brakes, oils, and cooling fluids, can significantly reduce the likelihood of vehicle breakdowns on the road. By staying proactive and diligent in maintaining their vehicles, drivers can protect themselves and others on the road from potential dangers during the scorching summer heat.

As part of the RTA’s ongoing efforts to promote road safety, the awareness campaign emphasizes the importance of regular vehicle inspections and maintenance. By encouraging drivers to stay vigilant and proactive in ensuring their vehicles are in top condition, the RTA aims to reduce the number of accidents caused by mechanical failures during extreme weather conditions. Through social media and partnerships with various customer service centers, the RTA is spreading awareness about the significance of vehicle maintenance during the summer months to enhance road safety and prevent traffic incidents.
