Dubai Police received a significant number of phone calls during the Eid Al Adha holidays, with 71,370 calls made to emergency number 999 and 6,433 calls through the non-emergency number 901. Residents are urged to only call 999 for emergencies to ensure that emergency services can respond promptly. The Dubai Police have a history of responding efficiently to calls, with over 2.1 million calls answered within 10 seconds last year and 7.4 million calls answered in 2022. Brig. Turki Abdul Rahman bin Faris emphasized the efforts made by the Dubai Police during holidays and events to provide immediate assistance to the public.

Major Gen. Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi praised the Events Security Committee for ensuring security at various locations during the holidays, including mosques, tourist areas, shopping centres, and public parks. Dubai Police deployed a range of security patrols, rescue patrols, security boats, helicopters, ambulances, bicycles, rescue boats, and civil defence vehicles to maintain security and respond to emergencies. Additionally, authorities diverted the route of workers’ buses to prevent congestion during the holidays. Special Eid Al Adha celebrations were also held for over 6,000 workers in Jebel Ali, with sports and entertainment events and prize draws.

It is crucial for residents in Dubai to be aware of the proper emergency numbers and when to dial them. Calling 999 for non-emergencies can overload the emergency services and delay response times for those in genuine need of immediate assistance. By following the advice to call 901 for non-emergencies, residents can help ensure that emergency services are available to respond to critical situations promptly. The Dubai Police have a track record of efficiently handling a large volume of calls, with millions being answered within a short timeframe in previous years.

The Dubai Police have been proactive in intensifying their efforts and preparations during official holidays and special occasions to meet the needs of the public promptly. Special attention is given to maintaining security at various locations frequented by residents and tourists during holidays. With the deployment of multiple security patrols and emergency response vehicles, the Dubai Police are equipped to handle a wide range of situations effectively. By coordinating with other government agencies and holding special events for workers during holidays, the Dubai Police demonstrate their commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.
