Dubai has launched a new air quality monitoring station at Jebel Ali equipped with 11 sensors capable of measuring 101 types of air pollutants. This Dh2-million facility is the first fixed air quality monitoring station built by the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation, in line with the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033. The initiative is part of efforts led by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to improve the overall quality of life in Dubai.
The CEO of PCFC, Nasser Al Neyadi, emphasized the corporation’s commitment to enhancing quality of life and environmental sustainability through this initiative. The choice of Jebel Ali as the location for the station aims to improve air quality across Dubai, especially in areas under the corporation’s supervision. The station features an advanced design with a steel frame, insulated panels, and the latest devices for constant air pollutant analysis.
Abdulla Belhoul, CEO of Trakhees, highlighted that the station is equipped with advanced data collection and transmission systems that connect to a central office for data processing and report generation.
