The Endowments and Minors’ Affairs Trust Foundation in Dubai (AWQAF) is currently working on an eco-friendly endowment mall project that will help finance mosque affairs in the emirate. The project is part of Dubai’s ‘Mosques Endowment’ campaign, which aims to support the Dubai Mosques Endowments Fund to meet the needs of mosques. The new mall, located in the Al Khawaneej area, is around 17 percent complete and is set to feature 29 shops, a large shopping centre, a medical centre, restaurants, and a fitness centre, as well as service facilities, roads, garden areas, parking lots, and two prayer rooms for men and women.

The estimated cost of constructing the mall is Dh40 million, and it is expected to generate annual revenues of Dh8 million, which will be used to cover the expenses of approximately 50 mosques in Dubai that do not have access to endowments. The mall is being built according to international standards for green buildings, utilizing eco-friendly materials, construction techniques, and the latest energy-saving technologies, such as solar and renewable energy sources. The goal is to create a sustainable and environmentally friendly building that will contribute to the overall well-being of the community.

Ali Mohammed Al Mutawa, Secretary-General of AWQAF Dubai, recently visited the project site to oversee the progress of the work. He was accompanied by other officials from AWQAF Dubai and the engineers managing the project. Al Mutawa urged both government and private entities, institutions, and individuals to support the sustainable endowment project, which serves as an innovative model for the Foundation’s initiatives in supporting mosques in the UAE. The eco-friendly endowment mall is a significant step towards promoting a more environmentally conscious approach in the construction and operation of public facilities.

The eco-friendly endowment mall project in Dubai represents a forward-thinking initiative that demonstrates the commitment of AWQAF Dubai to support mosque affairs in a sustainable and innovative manner. By utilizing eco-friendly materials, construction techniques, and energy-saving technologies, the mall is expected to not only generate revenue to cover the expenses of mosques in need but also contribute to the overall well-being of the community. The project is aligned with international standards for green buildings and aims to set a new benchmark for environmentally friendly construction practices in the region.

The construction of the eco-friendly endowment mall in Dubai is progressing well, with the project currently at around 17 percent completion. Once finished, the mall will offer a range of facilities and services, including shops, a shopping centre, a medical centre, restaurants, and a fitness centre, all designed to meet the needs of the community. The project will also include prayer rooms for men and women, as well as green spaces, parking lots, and service facilities, making it a comprehensive and sustainable addition to the area.

With an estimated construction cost of Dh40 million and expected annual revenues of Dh8 million, the eco-friendly endowment mall project is a significant investment in the future of mosque affairs in Dubai. The project’s focus on environmental sustainability and energy efficiency sets it apart as a model for future development projects in the region. By utilizing the latest technologies for generating, saving, and recycling energy, the mall is poised to become a leading example of green building practices in the UAE, benefiting both the community and the environment.
