A British expatriate has filed a civil lawsuit demanding Apple to disclose the identity of an AirTag owner to track his location. The man discovered the device hidden in his child’s toy, leading to a criminal report against his ex-wife for breaching privacy. The man found the device, which led him to his ex-wife parked outside his new residence. The ex-wife admitted to owning an AirTag to track pets but denied knowing about the AirTag found in the teddy bear. Despite the request, Apple did not disclose the owner’s identity, leading to the civil case at Dubai Civil Court.

During court hearings, the man’s lawyer argued that their client suffered from emotional distress and security issues because of the incident. Legal consultant Dr. Hasan Elhais expressed concerns about the misuse of technology in family disputes and requested the court to compel Apple to disclose crucial information to safeguard his client’s privacy rights. The requested information includes all data related to the AirTag, the owner’s identity, and any linked accounts for tracking without consent.

The incident has resulted in substantial material and moral damages to the man, impacting his personal well-being and professional life. The prolonged legal battle has created financial burdens for the man, preventing him from properly running his company. The case is ongoing as the man seeks justice for the emotional distress and security issues caused by the misuse of technology in family disputes.

This case highlights the ethical concerns and emotional toll technology can inflict when used maliciously. Dr. Elhais emphasized the need to address the misuse of technology in family disputes and ensure privacy rights are protected. The lawsuit aims to hold Apple accountable for disclosing information crucial to safeguarding the man’s privacy and seeking justice for the damages caused by the unauthorized tracking.

The man’s lawyer argued for the disclosure of data related to the AirTag, the owner’s identity, and any linked accounts used for unauthorized tracking. The incident has not only impacted the man’s personal well-being but also caused financial burdens due to the legal battle. Dr. Elhais stressed the importance of addressing the misuse of technology in family disputes and ensuring privacy rights are protected through legal interventions.

The ongoing civil lawsuit aims to hold Apple accountable for disclosing crucial information related to the AirTag owner, seeking justice for the emotional distress and security issues caused by the unauthorized tracking. Dr. Elhais highlighted the need to address the misuse of technology in family disputes and protect individuals’ privacy rights from such malicious activities. The man’s quest for justice continues as he seeks compensation for the damages caused by the unauthorized tracking and the emotional toll it has taken on his personal and professional life.
