The Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination has announced the launch of operations across 10 new speech therapy centres in Egypt, benefiting 643 young men and women with disabilities. The project aims to develop skills for those with autism spectrum disorders, delayed speech, speech problems, hyperactivity disorders, attention deficit disorders, learning difficulties, and behavior modification issues. Through awareness programs for families and guardians, the initiative aims to empower and support people of determination.
A team of social workers and speech therapists will organize workshops to identify learning difficulties, obstacles, and challenges faced by individuals with disabilities. Specialized skills will be provided to help them overcome these challenges. Additionally, psychological and social support programs will be implemented to enhance the overall well-being of the beneficiaries. The ten centres across different governorates have been equipped with the latest tools and devices to provide various therapy sessions and assessments.
Interviews have been conducted for young cadres nominated to work as specialists in these centres. The establishment of 30 speech therapy centres is planned to be completed by 2024 as part of a joint cooperation protocol signed between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Zayed Higher Organisation. The protocol aims to rehabilitate and develop speech therapy centres, provide internet services, and organize medical convoys to offer urgent medical care to people of determination and their families.
