The Quality of Life Program, one of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiatives, showcased the Kingdom’s contributions to sustainable development goals at the High-Level Political Forum for Sustainable Development in New York City. The forum, held at the United Nations headquarters from July 8 to 18, aimed to raise awareness of Saudi Vision 2030 and the Quality of Life Program’s role in achieving sustainable development goals. The first day’s session focused on urban challenges, emphasizing the importance of advanced data and practices, innovation, cooperation, and exchange of experiences in achieving local, regional, and international goals.
During the forum, an event on “Quality of Life and its Link to Sustainable Development” was organized by the Quality of Life Program. The event featured discussion sessions and interactive lectures with experts and officials from Saudi Arabia and around the world. The CEO of the program, Khaled Al-Bakr, highlighted the program’s efforts to improve the quality of life for all individuals in Saudi Arabia through various initiatives in areas such as arts and culture, sports, tourism, urban development, entertainment, hobbies, and security and safety. Al-Bakr also emphasized the program’s collaboration with global partners, such as the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat), to achieve sustainable development goals.
Representatives from various government agencies, including the Ministry of Economy and Planning, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, and others, participated in the events organized by the Quality of Life Program at the forum. The program’s participation in the high-level forum organized by the United Nations aligns with the goals of Vision 2030 to position the Kingdom as a global leader in various fields. Saudi Arabia’s commitment to sustainable development and quality of life improvement was highlighted through the initiatives and discussions at the forum.
