The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance and the Presidency of the Islamic Union of the Republic of North Macedonia signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Skopje, the Macedonian capital. The MoU outlines a framework for cooperation in promoting Islam and its virtues through the exchange of research, books, and scientific publications. It also covers organizing scientific seminars, joint training courses for Islamic affairs workers, and joint exhibitions to promote Islam. Additionally, the MoU includes participation in Islamic conferences and seminars and the implementation of their recommendations. A significant aspect of the MoU involves collaborating on mosque maintenance, exchanging experiences in training mosque employees, and holding joint workshops on mosque architecture and upkeep.

The signing ceremony was attended by Sheikh Dr. Awad Al-Anazi, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, and Mufti Sheikh Hafiz Şakir Efendi Fetahu, President of the Islamic Union of North Macedonia. Saudi Ambassador to Albania, Faisal Hifzi, along with several senior Macedonian officials and media representatives were also present at the event. The agreement also emphasizes serving the Holy Qur’an and the Prophet’s Sunnah by exchanging experiences in Qur’an printing and translation, and providing copies of publications from the King Fahd Glorious Qur’an Printing Complex. It includes the exchange of invitations for Qur’an memorization and recitation competitions, sharing rules and regulations, and exchanging experiences related to Qur’an manuscripts.

The MoU further includes provisions for mutual visits and collaboration in related fields, aiming to strengthen religious and cultural ties between the two parties. The partnership focuses on enhancing Islamic education and community outreach in North Macedonia. By working together on mosque maintenance, Qur’an printing, and other aspects of Islamic practice, both parties can benefit from sharing knowledge and experiences. The exchange of research, books, and publications will also contribute to a better understanding and appreciation of Islam in both countries.

This agreement marks a significant step towards fostering cooperation and collaboration between the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance and the Islamic Union of North Macedonia. By establishing a framework for working together on various initiatives, both parties are committed to promoting Islam, fostering cultural exchange, and strengthening religious ties. Through joint training courses, scientific seminars, and exhibitions, they aim to educate and engage the community in North Macedonia on the principles and values of Islam.

Overall, the signing of the MoU between the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance and the Islamic Union of North Macedonia represents a positive development in promoting Islamic values and strengthening ties between the two parties. By formalizing their cooperation in various areas such as mosque maintenance, Qur’an printing, and cultural exchange, they are laying the foundation for mutual understanding and collaboration. Through this partnership, both parties can work together to enhance the practice and appreciation of Islam in North Macedonia and beyond.
