During the inspection, it was found that the data on the label and the customs declaration did not match the actual appearance of the imported fish. As a result, the entire consignment, weighing approximately two tons, was rejected, and the firm was referred to the relevant authorities for further action.
Under the Food Law and its executive regulations, penalties for such violations include a fine of SR500,000 and the suspension of the violator from practicing any work related to the Food Law. This includes establishments that trade or advertise food containing prohibited, forbidden, contaminated, or banned substances.
