Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan led the Saudi delegation at the 2024 BRICS Plus Summit in Kazan on behalf of King Salman. During the summit, Prince Faisal expressed the Kingdom’s concerns over escalating global tensions, particularly in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon. He emphasized the need to strengthen international institutions to address the needs of all countries and warned that the Israeli aggression in Gaza and Lebanon poses a serious threat to regional and international security. Prince Faisal called for an immediate ceasefire, provision of humanitarian assistance, release of hostages, and a commitment to achieving lasting peace. He highlighted the Kingdom’s efforts to promote peace in the region, including the launch of the “International Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution” initiative.

Prince Faisal conveyed greetings from King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to Russian President Vladimir Putin and BRICS leaders, thanking them for the warm welcome. He noted the growing relations between the Kingdom and BRICS countries, with bilateral trade exceeding $196 billion in 2023. Prince Faisal emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation with BRICS countries to address global challenges and support sustainable development. He reiterated the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with the BRICS group and expanding cooperation in all fields to promote international development and prosperity.

The Saudi delegation at the BRICS Plus Summit included Saudi Ambassador to Russia Abdulrahman Al-Ahmad, Director General of the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Daoud, Director General of International Organizations Shaher Al-Khenini, and Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed Al-Yahya. The summit provided an opportunity for Saudi Arabia to engage with BRICS countries and explore ways to collaborate on a global scale. Prince Faisal highlighted the importance of working together to address pressing global issues and support sustainable development initiatives. The Kingdom’s participation in the summit underscored its commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region and beyond.
