The Minister of Interior in Saudi Arabia, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud, has confirmed that the country has made exceptional efforts to combat drugs and arrest smugglers and traffickers. These efforts have been part of proactive security plans to ensure the security and stability of Saudi Arabia. The Minister emphasized the importance of confronting everything that threatens the country’s security, especially the dangers posed by drug smuggling. He praised the citizens for their awareness and role in combating drugs by reporting any suspicious activities to the authorities, promising complete confidentiality for such reports.

The Director of Public Security, Lt. Gen. Mohammad Al-Bassami, highlighted the Saudi government’s efforts in protecting its people from the dangers of drug abuse. He stressed the importance of developing tools and methods to keep pace with technological advancements in order to effectively combat drug smuggling and trafficking. Al-Bassami urged the support of official efforts by utilizing all available capabilities to confront the challenges posed by drugs and to protect societies from their harmful effects.

On World Anti-Drug Day, Major General Al-Qarni, the Director General of Drug Control, emphasized the negative effects of drugs and the importance of spreading awareness about their dangers. Saudi Arabia, known for its intense efforts to control drugs, has been leading the way in protecting future generations from the scourge of drug abuse. Al-Qarni highlighted the country’s vision and insight in combating the spread of drugs to ensure the well-being of its society and prevent the dire consequences associated with drug abuse.

In order to tackle the dangerous scourge of drugs that can destabilize countries, security services in Saudi Arabia have been urged to leverage modern technical means and artificial intelligence algorithms. This will enhance their ability to confront drug-related crimes effectively and keep pace with the ever-evolving technological landscape. It is essential to continuously develop tools and methods to combat drug trafficking and protect societies from the threats posed by the drug trade.

The Minister of Interior underscored the importance of the security authorities in Saudi Arabia firmly confronting drugs and preventing drug dealers from targeting young people in the country. He reiterated the commitment of the Ministry of Interior to forcefully combat anything that poses a threat to the security and stability of Saudi Arabia.
