On World Refugee Day, Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), is recognized for its unwavering support for those in need around the world. With a total of 2,984 projects in 99 countries, the Kingdom’s commitment to providing aid and assistance to refugees and displaced people is evident. This support is seen as an Islamic and humanitarian duty, in accordance with the teachings of Islam and international humanitarian laws. Through various projects and programs, Saudi Arabia aims to alleviate the suffering of refugees and provide them with a dignified life.

Significantly, Syria, Palestine, Myanmar, and Yemen have been key beneficiaries of Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian efforts. These countries have received assistance through a total of 424 projects, with funding exceeding $1.182 billion. Projects have been focused on vital sectors such as food security, agriculture, protection, health, shelter, early recovery, and education. The impact of these initiatives extends beyond monetary value, as they contribute to improving the well-being and livelihoods of refugees and displaced people in these countries.

Internally displaced people have also been a priority for KSrelief, with 304 projects amounting to over $2.019 billion. In addition, Saudi Arabia has demonstrated a welcoming attitude towards refugees and visitors residing within the Kingdom. Those from Yemen, Syria, and Myanmar make up 5.5% of the population and are provided with access to free healthcare and education. The Kingdom offers opportunities for work and education in public schools, facilitating their integration into society and supporting their overall well-being.

Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian efforts reflect its commitment to upholding the values of compassion and solidarity towards those in need. By supporting refugees and displaced people, the Kingdom plays a vital role in addressing global humanitarian crises and promoting stability in conflict-affected regions. The impact of these initiatives goes beyond financial support, as they contribute to building resilience, fostering peace, and promoting sustainable development in communities affected by displacement and conflict.

As the world continues to face ongoing challenges related to displacement and humanitarian crises, Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting refugees remains unwavering. Through its extensive humanitarian programs and projects, the Kingdom continues to provide vital assistance to those in need, regardless of nationality or background. On World Refugee Day and beyond, Saudi Arabia’s role as a leading humanitarian actor is recognized, reaffirming its dedication to promoting peace, stability, and resilience in regions affected by conflict and displacement.

In conclusion, Saudi Arabia’s support for refugees and displaced people reflects its values of compassion, solidarity, and humanitarianism. Through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, the Kingdom has made significant contributions to improving the lives of those affected by crises worldwide. With a focus on vital sectors and a commitment to upholding Islamic and international humanitarian principles, Saudi Arabia continues to play a crucial role in addressing global challenges and promoting stability and peace in conflict-affected regions.
