Jazan recorded the highest amount of rainfall in a single day in the past 12 years, reaching 184 mm, surpassing the previous record set in Jeddah in 2022. As a result of the heavy rains, in-person classes in schools were suspended and students were shifted to remote learning platforms. The Jazan Region Mayoralty and its affiliated municipalities have intensified their efforts to deal with the effects of the heavy rain by implementing an emergency plan with the participation of numerous emergency rooms, human cadres, equipment, drainage tanks, pumps, and various tools.

The heavy rains coincided with the appearance of the Suhail star in the Arabian Peninsula, signaling the beginning of the countdown to summer.
