The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has recently released a detailed report predicting the climate conditions that can be expected throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during the summer season from June to August 2024. According to the report, there is a high probability of the average surface temperature increasing by up to 80 percent in most regions of the Kingdom, with a potential rise of up to two degrees above the normal rate. Additionally, an increase in the rate of rainfall is expected in many areas, particularly in the months of July and August, with a chance of occurrence as high as 70 percent. Regions such as Al-Baha, Asir, Jazan, Najran, and the highlands of the Makkah region are likely to experience heavy rain.

The report also forecasts a rise in temperatures in certain regions during July, with an increase of up to two degrees expected in areas such as Hail, Qassim, Al-Jouf, the Northern Borders, and parts of the Madinah and Tabuk regions. The regions of Riyadh and the Eastern Province could see a rise of a degree and a half, while the remaining regions may experience a change of about one degree from the average. As for August, temperature rates are predicted to potentially increase further, with a change from the average of up to two degrees in parts of Hail and the Northern Borders, and a degree and a half in Riyadh, Eastern Province, Madinah, and Tabuk. Other regions can expect a change of one degree from the average.

The report suggests the likelihood of rainfall in all regions of Saudi Arabia during July, exceeding the normal rate, with a chance of occurrence ranging from 60 to 70 percent. In August, most regions are expected to receive rainfall higher than usual, with a likelihood of occurrence at around 60 percent, except for portions of Makkah, Madinah, and the Eastern Province which may experience rainfall at an average level. This information can be crucial for residents and visitors to prepare for the varying weather conditions and take necessary precautions to ensure safety and well-being.

As climate change continues to impact various regions around the world, accurate forecasts such as those provided by the NCM are essential for governments, businesses, and individuals to plan and respond effectively to potential challenges. By understanding the expected climate conditions, authorities can implement strategies to mitigate risks related to extreme temperatures and rainfall, while residents can take measures to stay safe and protect their property. Additionally, accurate weather forecasts can also help industries such as agriculture, transportation, and tourism to adjust their operations accordingly and minimize potential disruptions.

Given the potential rise in temperature and increased rainfall predicted for the summer of 2024 in Saudi Arabia, it is important for individuals to stay informed and prepared for any weather-related events that may occur. This includes staying updated on weather forecasts, ensuring that homes and vehicles are properly insulated, and having emergency supplies on hand in case of severe weather conditions. Education and awareness about climate change and its impact on weather patterns are also key factors in building resilient communities that can adapt to changing conditions and reduce risks associated with extreme weather events.

In conclusion, the detailed report provided by the National Center of Meteorology offers valuable insights into the expected climate conditions in Saudi Arabia during the summer of 2024. By highlighting potential changes in temperature and rainfall patterns, the report enables individuals and organizations to make informed decisions and take appropriate actions to safeguard lives and property. As the Kingdom prepares for the upcoming summer season, the information provided by the NCM will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents and visitors.
