Minister of the Interior opens new Public Security building in Riyadh

The Minister of Interior, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, recently inaugurated the new building of the General Directorate of Public Security in Riyadh. During the inauguration, the minister was given a tour of the building’s facilities, security installations, equipment, and modern technical systems that support security capabilities and provide an integrated work environment. Additionally, Prince Abdulaziz opened the Innovation Center and the Center for Indicators and Artificial Intelligence at the Public Security building, aiming to enhance security and technical excellence through the use of modern technologies to upgrade field and administrative operations and promote the digital transformation of security work.

As part of the inauguration ceremony, the Interior Minister also launched a number of services through the Absher Personal portal. These services include reporting minor accidents, printing a copy of vehicle registration (istimara), obtaining a digital license for an air gun, filing accident reports, accessing vehicle data reports, and reporting issues related to driving licenses. Additionally, two services were introduced for rock cutting technicians, as well as the transfer of rock cutting materials through the Absher Business platform. These efforts align with the Public Security’s goal of automating services to provide electronic and digital solutions that simplify procedures for beneficiaries.

The event was attended by various high-ranking officials, including Assistant Minister of Interior for Technology Affairs, Prince Dr. Bandar bin Abdullah; Assistant Minister of Interior for Operations Affairs, Lt. Gen. Saeed Al-Qahtani; Assistant Minister of Interior, Dr. Hisham Al -Falih; Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Khalid Al-Batal; Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Security Affairs, Muhammad Al -Muhanna; Director of the National Information Center, Dr. Essam Al -Waqit, along with commanders of the security sectors and other senior officials of the ministry. The presence of these esteemed individuals underscores the importance of the new building and the services being introduced in advancing security capabilities and digital transformation within the Public Security sector.

Overall, the inauguration of the new General Directorate of Public Security building in Riyadh signifies a significant milestone in enhancing security operations and capabilities through the integration of modern technologies and digital solutions. These advancements, including the Innovation Center and the Center for Indicators and Artificial Intelligence, will further support security excellence and efficiency. The introduction of new services through the Absher Personal portal reflects the ministry’s commitment to providing easier and simpler procedures for beneficiaries, ultimately improving the overall experience for individuals utilizing these services. The presence of high-ranking officials at the inauguration ceremony demonstrates the government’s dedication to modernizing security operations and promoting digital transformation in the Public Security sector.
