Media Minister Salman Al-Dosary recently conducted a tour of media outlets at the Holy Sites to inspect the level of preparedness for the upcoming Hajj pilgrimage. Starting at the Ministry of Media headquarters in Arafat, he was briefed on the mobile broadcasting vehicle used by the Saudi Broadcasting Authority (SBA) for coverage of the wuqoof Arafat. This important pillar of Hajj will take place on Saturday, and the Minister also visited the Jabal Al-Rahma Tower to learn about the mobile television studio of the authority.
Moving on to the Saudi News Agency (SPA) media center in Arafat, Al-Dosary saw the equipment available for Saudi and international journalists to facilitate their work. He then proceeded to the Ministry’s headquarters in Mina to review the readiness of the SBA’s studios. The visit also included the SPA media center in Mina, where he interacted with the work team. The Minister praised the efforts of media professionals in showcasing the Kingdom’s commitment to serving the pilgrims, with support from King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The Saudi Broadcasting Authority has a strong presence at the Holy Sites, with 100 correspondents and broadcasters, as well as about 100 mobile cameras. They have prepared over 700 news articles in 12 languages and set up an operations room for logistical support. Production teams have been bolstered with specialized staff for field coverage and news editing, and mobile units are in place to broadcast reports from various locations at the Holy Sites. The Ministry’s preparations indicate a commitment to ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience for the pilgrims.
