The General Supervisor of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief), Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, has highlighted Saudi Arabia’s extensive efforts in providing humanitarian and relief aid to countries around the world. Since 1996, the country has contributed more than $130 billion in aid, benefiting 170 countries. Dr. Al-Rabeeah emphasized the center’s commitment to international relief activities and its adherence to high standards of governance, transparency, and professionalism.

Since its establishment in 2015, KSrelief has implemented over 3,000 projects in 100 countries, with a total value exceeding $6.94 billion. Yemen has been a major recipient of the center’s aid, receiving 64% of total projects valued at over $4.466 billion. Additionally, the center has focused on projects dedicated to women and children, benefiting millions of individuals around the world. Saudi Arabia has also provided support for refugees, with over 1 million refugees currently residing in the country, including those from Yemen, Syria, and Myanmar.

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, Saudi Arabia has allocated more than $824.29 million to combat the virus internationally. Medical and preventive aid has been sent to over 50 countries to support their efforts in containing the spread of the virus. Dr. Al-Rabeeah also highlighted the establishment of the Saudi Mine Action Program (MASAM) in Yemen, which has successfully cleared more than 453,000 mines from the country’s territory. The program has also supported individuals who have lost limbs due to mine explosions.

Saudi Arabia has been actively involved in providing aid to countries facing crises, such as Sudan, Ukraine, and the Gaza Strip. The country has provided significant financial assistance to these regions to alleviate the suffering of those affected by humanitarian crises. In addition, the launch of the “Saudi Hearing” volunteer program in Turkey aims to provide cochlear implants and rehabilitation for individuals affected by the earthquake in Syria and Turkey, making it the largest voluntary humanitarian program for hearing rehabilitation in the world.

Dr. Al-Rabeeah underscored Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting countries in need and its dedication to humanitarian efforts globally. The country’s contributions in humanitarian and relief aid have had a significant impact on millions of individuals in various countries. The center’s projects and initiatives reflect the values of neutrality, transparency, and partnership building, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s position as a leading international center for relief and humanitarian activities.

As Saudi Arabia continues to provide assistance to countries facing crises and disasters, the country’s humanitarian efforts remain a cornerstone of its foreign policy. Through its extensive projects and partnerships with international organizations, Saudi Arabia continues to demonstrate its commitment to alleviating the suffering of those in need and promoting stability and peace in the region and beyond.
