The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development is hosting the International Labor Market Conference from January 29 to 30, 2025, in Riyadh, under the patronage of King Salman. The conference aims to establish a global dialogue system to discuss opportunities and challenges in labor markets and to innovate strategic solutions in line with Saudi Vision 2030. This edition of the conference will further solidify GLMC’s position as a leading platform for research related to labor markets, with partnerships with international organizations such as the International Labor Organization, the World Bank, and the United Nations Development Program.

The conference will bring together experts, officials, and leaders from public and private sectors, with over 200 speakers from more than 50 countries, to exchange ideas and experiences. The goal is to bridge gaps within labor markets and develop practical visions that enable stakeholders to address challenges, attract the best talents, and set global standards of excellence in the labor market. Sessions and workshops will focus on topics such as skills development, the impact of digital technologies, and the role of small and medium enterprises in fostering innovation and supporting young professionals.

One of the key topics to be discussed at the GLMC is the continuous development and rehabilitation of skills in the labor market. This includes exploring the impact of digital technologies on job improvement and wages, as well as how skill-based jobs can enhance the overall effectiveness of the labor market in the future. The conference will also address productivity in different markets, the role of the mobile workforce in strengthening economies, and the challenges young people face in the labor market.

Smart policies that empower young people to become professionals and contribute to economic mobility will also be a focus. Additionally, there will be discussions on how small and medium enterprises can support growth, digital transformation, and the creation of more productive jobs. The conference aims to drive positive change in work practices and enhance cooperation among various stakeholders in the global labor market. By bringing together a diverse group of experts and leaders, the GLMC seeks to shape the future of labor markets on both a local and global scale.

The Ministry of Human Resources expressed gratitude for the sponsorship of the conference by King Salman, highlighting the positive impact it will have on Saudi Arabia’s efforts to enhance modern practices in labor markets. The Minister of Human Resources emphasized the importance of establishing a global dialogue system through the conference to address opportunities and challenges in the labor market. With the participation of international organizations and experts, the GLMC is set to stimulate dialogue, knowledge, and collaboration in order to establish a comprehensive ecosystem for the global labor market.

Overall, the second edition of the International Labor Market Conference is poised to lead the global dialogue on the future of labor markets. By focusing on key topics such as skills development, digital technologies, and the role of small and medium enterprises, the conference aims to drive innovation and excellence in the labor market. Through dialogue sessions and workshops, stakeholders will have the opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences, ultimately working towards a more efficient and productive labor market both locally and globally.
