Saudi Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman highlighted the collective efforts of Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan in addressing climate change during the 3rd Tashkent International Investment Forum. He emphasized the rational positions shared by both countries in energy security and sustainable development. Uzbekistan’s commitment to a fair energy transition aligns with Saudi Arabia’s goals, promoting cooperation in various fields for mutual benefit.

The relationship between Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan has been strengthened under the leadership of both countries, particularly in the energy sector. Cooperative efforts between the two nations serve as a model for economic development, reflecting shared objectives outlined in the “Uzbekistan Strategy 2030” and the “Kingdom’s Vision 2030”. Both countries are focused on diversifying their economies and promoting sustainable development for a prosperous future.

The historic meeting between Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Riyadh in 2022 marked a significant turning point in the relationship between Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan. The energy sector has become a key focus of cooperation, with a particular emphasis on renewable energy. Saudi companies, like ACWA Power Company, have made significant investments in Uzbekistan, with over $14 billion invested to produce more than 11 gigawatts of electricity from renewable sources.

Prince Abdulaziz noted the important role of renewable energy in the growing partnership between Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan, highlighting the substantial investments made by Saudi companies in the Uzbek energy sector. The collaboration between the two countries in renewable energy projects underscores their commitment to sustainable development and a shared vision for a prosperous future. The continued cooperation in the energy sector is expected to further strengthen the bilateral relationship between Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan.

The dialogue session at the Tashkent International Investment Forum provided an opportunity for Prince Abdulaziz to underscore the importance of collaboration between Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan in addressing global challenges like climate change. The minister highlighted the mutual commitment of both countries to sustainable development and energy security, emphasizing the need for collective action to achieve common goals. The ongoing partnership between Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan is poised to make a significant impact on renewable energy initiatives and drive economic growth in both nations.

In conclusion, the close ties between Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan signal a new era of cooperation in various fields, with a particular focus on renewable energy and sustainable development. The strategic collaboration between the two countries reflects a shared commitment to addressing global challenges and building a prosperous future for their people. By working together, Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan are poised to make a positive impact on the energy sector and contribute to the collective efforts to combat climate change.
