The month of September in Doha, Qatar is set to be filled with exciting and action-packed events to kick-start a new academic year and welcome a new season. The Peninsula has curated a list of upcoming events across the country for you to enjoy during the first weekend of the month.

Start off your weekend with a Public Guided Tour (English) at the Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum on September 7 and 21 from 4pm to 5pm. Visitors will be taken on a journey through the history of sports and the Olympic Games, with a special section dedicated to iconic athletes and their memorabilia. Ticket prices start at QR35 and must be booked in advance to secure a spot.

On the same day, head to the National Museum of Qatar for a Family Gathering: Storytelling session from 5pm to 6pm. Join the audience on an imaginative adventure through the story of Zoe, a young girl who discovers the power of dreams. This storytelling session will explore moral lessons about the endless possibilities we can achieve when growing up.

For a unique experience, participate in BOUNCE with The Olympians on September 5 and 6 at Bounce, Doha. This masterclass with Olympians is open to participants above the age of 6 who want to hone their trampoline skills with the Spanish national gymnastics team. Tickets are required, starting at QR200.

Don’t miss ‘The Migrants Exhibition’ by Saudi fine artist Saleh Alqasem at Building 18, Katara Cultural Village until September 14. This exhibition features 30 paintings portraying the artist’s experience of migration using various artistic styles. The event is free for the public to visit during specified working hours.

Explore the Lawazim Trade Fair at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre until September 7. This trade fair welcomes shoppers interested in men’s and women’s clothing, as well as products such as abayas, perfumes, and home supplies. The event concludes this weekend, so be sure not to miss out on your chance to shop.

For space enthusiasts, the Cosmic Canvas-Space Art Exhibition is back at the Al Thuraya Planetarium, Katara Building 41 until September 20. Featuring 21 artworks from artists in Qatar, the United States, and Russia, this exhibition showcases paintings and photographs depicting the wonders of our galaxy. Visitors can view the exhibit for free at the planetarium.

Lastly, don’t miss ‘The Limits of My Language are The Limits of My World’ exhibition at The Media Majlis Museum at Northwestern Qatar until December 5. This edition focuses on the significance of the Arabic language and its impact in a digital and globalized age where English dominates. Explore the exhibition to learn more about the importance of language representation in media platforms.
